7 Notable experiences of God in my life

Notable experiences of God in my life

Just came to my mind one night and I thought I haven’t had very many but as I pondered started counting more and more that had happened. These things I never even registered that they were probably the cause of my recognising God but later in life I can see that they are.
  1.   My first one that I can remember would have been in the early 1990’s.
I was praying one night and ‘thought I had just woken up’ from going off to sleep as happens to me sometimes. Next thing I knew I was standing praising God.  I don’t usually pray standing up or speak in tongues. I have never been known to and haven't since then.
Anyway I probably did the wrong thing but because it seemed so foreign to me I stopped as soon as I realized what I was doing. Got myself in a proper position again and continued on with my nightly prayer.
  2.     1994 – I had gone to a Salvation Army Congress. (Divisional/Territorial or International) meeting.
I was with another girl and I was the only one there whom she knew. She asked me if I would go to the front with her to pray. I did.
Something definitely happened to me there because I started to cry. Not Audibly – I wasn’t sad but tears started coming from my eyes.
  3.       1995 – Sleepwalking with an Angel?
I  had already gone to bed and had to get up to go to the toilet, mostly because I could ‘feel’ a seizure coming on and if I didn’t go quickly I might end up with an accident. The only sleepwalking I had ever done is during a seizure to find a toilet. This night I had been and remember going back to my room but don’t remember getting into bed.  Next thing I remember I was walking on a stony surface and someone was holding my hand – left side.  A little while later I woke up. Was in a street that I had never gone down before , was alone in just my nightwear. I kept walking for a little way but soon stopped. Looked ahead and behind me and could make out the road that was behind as being mine. So I started walking home but soon ran all the way (incase someone saw me), checked the street sign that night and at a later date and I hadn’t been up the street before. Next morning to see if I had been dreaming checked the soles of my feet and they were very dirty like I had been walking outside with no shoes. I had crossed 1 busy road and not stubbed my toes on curbs and the footpaths 'were' paved with fine gravel.
  4.        2000 - I had a few this year.
     a. May – I was scheduled to have a brain operation. I was talked to while being wheeled to the theatre and  at almost every door was given the option to back out because a brain operation can go very wrong apparently. Even at the theatre doors I was asked if I still wanted it. I’d had epilepsy all my life and it would really give me the dread fears even though it wasn’t that bad. I only had Petit Mal. I was at complete peace. Like no peace ever known before. The operation went fine but I had a stroke in the recovery room.  I never felt like blaming any one for the stroke which resulted.   I don’t think I would have been so content if it was just me in control.
5     b. I had to go to a Rehabilitation centre because of the stroke. During this time I was very bold for Jesus and had many open doors. While in there I met a man who was recovering from a broken back which he had done while in prison. He was in a different ward to me but we all used the same phones. After I first met him and I had been in the centre for a while one day I said out loud to God. I can’t wait to pray tonight for this man because I knew he needed extra prayer. I am sure God gave me an approval because my heart seemed to leap within me with joy. I gave a small bible to this man next time I saw him and had others given to me to give away.
6 c. My faith in God was certain now. I started this operation with little faith, now it was very strong.  If we give God our little faith it is amazing what he can do with it.
7.d. I am sure the spirit affected a lot of people at once including me. In the middle of a Worship service everything was going on normally. We had sang some songs, stood up, sat down etc. We came to a song and wasn’t given any indication to stand but everyone did – a couple of us did spontaneously.
I am sure there are more but I cannot think of them right now. But even 7 is a long way from none.
